Tyne Consort is a string quartet and early music ensemble based in the North East of England, available for weddings, functions and any suitable events. The ensemble was established by members of South Tyneside Orchestra in June 2006. Originally an early music ensemble, in late 2007 Tyne Consort became most prominently a string quartet, performing in and around South Tyneside, Newcastle and Durham regularly. The quartet has progressed to playing some of the most technically and musically demanding quartet works.
