An Autumn Recital with Tyne Consort
14th and 15th October 2011
Join Tyne Consort this autumn for a musical journey through the ages and across the globe which encompasses two of the most celebrated members of the string quartet repertoire. In a short series of concerts in October the quartet will twice embark on a bold pilgrimage from Old World to New, from the magisterial grandeur of Haydn’s “Emperor” Quartet, featuring its iconic variations on the famous Emperor’s Hymn, to the thrilling and adventurous “American” Quartet by Dvorak, a work which captures the frontier spirit of New World discovery with glorious sympathy. The series comprises concerts in October at the Lit and Phil Library in Newcastle and St. Peter’s Church in South Shields, with both of whom Tyne Consort are delighted to continue their friendly and productive association.
