Michael is currently reading Music BA Hons at Newcastle University, studying performance with Gabriel Waite of the Northern Sinfonia.

Michael has played for orchestras and ensembles since 1998, at countless venues around the UK and also Europe.

Michael is a member of the Soundpower Orchestra: a professional stage orchestra in the North of England, and has played with Newcastle Sinfonietta, Newcastle University Symphony Orchestra, Newcastle University Contemporary Music Ensemble, Newcastle University Viol Consort, the Armstrong Quartet, and the Monument Quartet. He increasingly performs for theatrical societies in the region.
